Wood Stain & Protect from Protek is a multipurpose waterproofing wood stain that nourishes and protects not only wood, but it can be applied to any porous surface such as terracotta pots and even masonry, allowing you to add colour to your whole garden. Wood Stain & Protect is weather, UV resistant and mould resistant, easy to apply and pet and plant friendly, making it great for staining all manner of garden buildings, furniture, fencing and animal housing. Wood Stain & Protect comes in a wide range of colours and can be applied by brush, roller or low pressure sprayer.

Surfaces should be cleaned with warm water, detergent and a stiff brush. Make sure that any previous surface treatments, pressure treatment residue, mould and algae is removed and rinse well. If your timber has been treated, no basecoat or primer is required. If your timber isn't treated with a preservative then depending on the type of wood and product, you may want to use the Protek Wood Preserver ++ first. Ensure that timber is fully dry. Do not apply to wet timber or if rain is expected within 48 hours, or if the temperature is below 5 degrees. Two coats of Wood Stain & Protect is recommended, a 3rd coat will deepen the colour and make the coating more opaque. Touch dry within 2 hours depending on drying conditions and humidity. For light colours a stain blocking primer is recommended before applying top coat. Wood Stain & Protect is a wood stain coating so will wear off over time. If applying Wood Stain & Protect to a garden building that will be subjected to high levels of exposure to weather, it is recommended that you apply Protek Clear Top Coat to help reduce fading.
