Wood Preserver ++ from Protek is designed for use on untreated timber to help protect against mould, wood destroying or discolouring fungi and wood boring insects. It works by penetrating into the layers of the wood and leaves an adhesive surface ready for applying paint or a waterproof top coat to protect the timber from the weather. This water based preservative should be applied by brush.

All previous wood stain, paint or preservative coatings should be completely removed. If necessary, grey, or deteriorated wood should be sanded down to a clean, sound surface. No pre-treatment of new timber is required. Protek Wood Preserver ++ is a ready-to-use product and does not need to be diluted. Ensure that timber is fully dr, do not apply to wet timber or if rain is expected within 48 hours, or if the temperature is below 5 degrees. At least two coats of Wood Preserver is recommended. Over coating of Protek Wood Preserver ++ is possible with most commercial solvent and water based final top coats. However, compatibility and adhesion should be tested in a sample. Allow a minimum of 24 hours drying time under normal conditions before application of a top coat.
