The Windsor Tall Single Gate is an exquisite wooden gate, with thick frames and bracing accompanied with a metal gothic pattern insert, excellent for providing a strong yet elegant gate that would complement even the most stately homes. The gates are hand made in the UK and feature an open top section that is filled with the elegant gothic metal design which helps make this range so popular! The lower section is solid tongue and groove, framed on both sides and across the top. The timber is smooth planed Scandinavian Redwood which has been pressure treated for a long, maintenance free life. Each gothic pattern insert has been electro-galvanised and black powder coated to give a smooth, high quality finish which will be maintenance free for 5 to 10 years. A top coat of metal preservative paint (such as Hammerite) can be used to top up this finish after this time frame if required.

Each gate has two vertical, four horizontal and two diagonal heavy duty braces on the back for maximum strength and durability. The overall height of the gates is 1800mm (71").

It is recommended that wooden gate posts are used when installing these gates. Optional smooth sawn pressure treated 10cm x 10cm square posts are available.

An optional galvanised fittings pack that includes a Ring Latch, 2 x 18 inch Hook and Band Hinges is also available.

Information about your gate

Fittings - The Windsor gates are not supplied with any fittings; however an optional fittings pack is available which includes the correct size hinges and latch for this weight of gate. The fittings we have available are galvanised to prevent rust. The gate has three horizontal braces on the back. Hinges should be fitted to the top and bottom brace.

Wooden Posts - Posts should be dug in approximately 60cm deep and held in place with concrete, or bolted to the wall using masonry bolts or frame fixing screws. A small gap must be left between the post and the gate to allow for expansion of the wood.

Finish - The Windsor gates are supplied pressure treated which leaves the wood with a temporary green tint. If left to weather, the wood will fade to a silvery grey colour; however you can change the colour straight away by staining the wood using Protek Timber Eco Shield, or it can be painted after it has been allowed to weather for at least 3 months using a product compatible for use with pressure treated timber. The metalwork is supplied black powder coated when required this can be topped up with a suitable exterior metal paint such as Hammerite.
