The Drayton Single Gate is a high quality, solid gate featuring thick frames and heavy duty bracing designed to provide a secure and attractive pedestrian gate to any property, Each gate is hand made in the UK and is designed to match the Drayton Double Gate and the Drayton Arch Top Double Gate. The gates are constructed from smooth planed Scandinavian Redwood which has been pressure treated for a long, maintenance free life. The front boards are a tongue and groove construction, and securely framed on both sides. The back of the gate has two vertical, two horizontal and one diagonal heavy duty braces for maximum strength and durability.

It is recommended that wooden gate posts are used when installing these gates. Optional smooth sawn 10cm square pressure treated posts are available.

An optional galvanised fittings pack that includes a Ring Latch and 2 x 18 inch Hook & Band Hinges is also available.

Information about your gate:

Fittings. The Drayton gates are not supplied with any fittings; however an optional fittings pack is available which includes the correct size hinges and latch for this weight of gate. The fittings we have available are galvanised to prevent rust. The gate has two horizontal braces on the back. Hinges should be fitted to the top and bottom brace.

Wooden Posts. Posts should be dug in approximately 55cm deep and held in place with concrete, or bolted to the wallusing masonry bolts or frame fixing screws. A small gap must be left between the post and the gate to allow for expansion of the wood.

Finish. The Drayton gates are supplied pressure treated which leaves the wood with a temporary green tint. If left to weather, the wood will fade to a silvery grey colour; however you can change the colour straight away by staining the wood using Protek Timber Eco Shield, or it can be painted after it has been allowed to weather for at least 3 months using a product compatible for use with pressure treated timber.
