The Drayton Flat Top Low Double Gates are a beautifully crafted pair of solid wooden gates, with thick frames and bracing designed to provide strong and durable security for your property. The gates are hand made in the UK using smooth planed Scandinavian Redwood which has been pressure treated for a long, maintenance free life. The front boards are a tongue and groove construction, framed on both sides and across the top. Each gate has two vertical, two horizontal and two diagonal heavy duty braces on the back for maximum strength and durability. The overall height of the gate is 95cm.

The matching Drayton Single Gate can be used in conjunction with these gates to provide separate pedestrian access to the side of the driveway.

It is recommended that wooden gate posts are used when installing these gates. Optional smooth sawn pressure treated 10cm x 10cm square posts are available.

An optional galvanised fittings pack that includes a Ring Latch, 4 x 24 inch Hook & Band Hinges and an 18 inch Drop Bolt is also available.

Information about your gate

Fittings. The Drayton gates are not supplied with any fittings; however an optional fittings pack is available which includes a drop bolt plus the correct size hinges and latch for this weight of gate. The fittings we have available are galvanised to prevent rust. Each gate has two horizontal braces on the back. Hinges should be fitted to the top and bottom brace.

Wooden Posts. Posts should be dug in approximately 55cm deep and held in place with concrete, or bolted to the wall using masonry bolts or frame fixing screws. A small gap must be left between the post and the gate to allow for expansion of the wood.

Finish. The Drayton gates are supplied pressure treated which leaves the wood with a temporary green tint. If left to weather, the wood will fade to a silvery grey colour; however you can change the colour straight away by staining the wood using Protek Timber Eco Shield, or it can be painted after it has been allowed to weather for at least 3 months using a product compatible for use with pressure treated timber.
