Horticultural Alpine Grit from Altico can be used to supress weeds in Alpine and rock gardens and also as a soil improver by mixing into heavy soils to improve drainage. It can also be used to create pathways and as pot toppers. Consisting of 2-6mm lime free washed Quartzite grit, it is suitable for use in ponds and water features as it is fish friendly in its natural state

Our aggregate range is delivered in 0.8 cubic metre bulk bags on a non returnable pallet. The Bulk Bag holds around 850kg of stone. 

Additional information

Sizing: Please note as all decorative aggregates are quarried. The size of the product can vary, all sizes quoted are an approximate indication of the sizes you will receive.

Colour: As these products are formed from natural stone, colour variations are to be expected.

Dust: All quarried decorative gravels will contain a certain amount of dust this is caused either by the blasting or digging at the quarries. The dust can be cleared by simply hosing the materials once laid or letting nature take its course by letting the dust wash away over time with rain fall.

Delivery

The Altico aggregates are delivered on a non returnable pallet. The pallet is unloaded from the delivery vehicle using a tail lift and a hand pump truck which requires a flat, firm surface for unloading. In some cases, this may mean kerbside delivery only. Please make us aware of any vehicle access restrictions such as height, width or weight limits as failed deliveries due to access issues may incur a failed delivery charge.
