Timber Eco Shield from Protek is a waterproofing wood stain designed to be used with newly pressure treated timber. The water based microporous treatment allows you to stain the wood in a choice of colours, whilst also adding a protective waterproof coating to the surface that still allows the timber to breath. Eco Shield is child and animal safe, making it suitable for staining play equipment, wooden ponds or animal housing. Eco Shield comes in a wide range of colours allowing you to choose the best option for your garden building or project. This water based treatment can be applied by brush, roller or sprayer.

Application

Surfaces should be cleaned with warm water, detergent and a stiff brush. Make sure that any previous surface treatments, pressure treatment residue, mould and algae is removed and rinse well. No basecoat or primer is required. Ensure that timber is fully dry. Do not apply to wet timber or if rain is expected within 48 hours, or if the temperature is below 5 degrees. Two coats of Timber Eco Shield is recommended. Touch dry within 2 hours depending on drying conditions and humidity.
