Rhino Oil from Churnet Valley is designed for use on their Valley dip treated range to either maintain the original finish or for use once the wood has weathered and requires restoring from scratch. Designed to provide your garden furniture with a weather resistancy for protection against damage caused by rain, sun exposure and other outdoor elements, while also preventing the wood from drying out, cracking or fading over time. This clear oil contains wax and UV filters that provide an attractive amber satin finish. Available as a 500ml spray or 1L tin in a choice of clear or valley brown.

Application

As a new finish, the grain should be prepared and sanded back to remove the grey/silver detritus removing any algae and mould along with it. A maximum 2 coats will be required initially and then for simple maintenance, apply a fresh coat of oil at least once yearly or as the wood starts to age.

For spray application: Ensure timber is clean and dry before application. Shake the bottle and spray 10cm away from the timber. With the other hand use a damp cloth containing white spirit (not included) or a small paint brush to move and work the oil over each area of the furniture. Always apply in light coats and build up to avoid drips, allowing drying time between each coat. Allow 48 hours to dry before using furniture and wash away any residual colour before using.

For tin application: Ensure timber is clean and dry before application. Shake the tin well and decant into a suitable container, with a paint brush move and work the oil along the grain over each area of the furniture. Always apply in light coats and build up to avoid drips, allowing drying time between each coat. Clean brushes with white spirit. Allow 48 hours to dry before using furniture and wash away any residual colour before using.
