Available to buy with the Quorn Double Gates is this 12.5cm square post, made from smooth sawn Scandinavian Redwood that has had the same pressure treatment as the gates, to preserve the timber for a long maintenance free life. The post has a pyramid top at one end and a flat top at the other, so you can choose which looks best next to your gates then cut off or bury the other end in the ground.

The post is designed to be concreted into the ground and at 152.5cm long, installing it along side a standard gate gives you up to 62.5cm with which to bury. If you prefer to wall mount your post, it can be easily cut shorter, just remember to seal the exposed timber with some preservative as you will be exposing the untreated core of the post. When wall mounting a post, make sure you leave a small gap between the ground and the bottom of the post to avoid trapping moisture. This will help to extend the life of your post.
