The Quorn Single Gate is a beautifully crafted solid wooden gate, with a thick frame and an open top above a solid lower section, creating an attractive gate for your garden. The gate is handmade in the UK using smooth planed Scandinavian Redwood which has been pressure treated for a long, maintenance free life. The lower boards are a tongue and groove construction, framed on both sides and across the top. The gate has two vertical, three horizontal and one diagonal heavy duty brace on the back for maximum strength and durability. The top of the gate is flat with an overall height of 900mm (35½”).

It is recommended that wooden gate posts are used when installing these gates. Optional smooth sawn pressure treated 10cm x 10cm square posts are available.

An optional galvanised fittings pack that includes a Ring Latch and 2 x 18" inch Hook & Band Hinges is also available.

Information about your gate

Fittings. The Quorn gates are not supplied with any fittings; however an optional fittings pack is available which includes the correct size hinges and latch for this weight of gate. The fittings we have available are galvanised to prevent rust. The gate has three horizontal braces on the back. Hinges should be fitted to the top and bottom brace.

Wooden Posts. Posts should be dug in approximately 42.5cm deep and held in place with concrete, or bolted to the wall using masonry bolts or frame fixing screws. A small gap must be left between the post and the gate to allow for expansion of the wood.

Finish. The Quorn gates are supplied pressure treated which leaves the wood with a temporary green tint. If left to weather, the wood will fade to a silvery grey colour; however you can change the colour straight away by staining the wood using Protek Timber Eco Shield, or it can be painted after it has been allowed to weather for at least 3 months using a product compatible for use with pressure treated timber.
