This 50mm (2") square metal post is designed for use with the Abbey Low Bow Gate. The posts are blank, giving you flexibility on the positioning of your gate fittings. The posts are supplied with self-drilling TEK screws that allow you to attach your fittings to the posts in the required position without needing to pre-drill holes. The posts are zinc plated to prevent rust and have a black powder coated finish.

The posts are designed to be concreted into the ground by 500mm (19.5"). This will leave a 50mm (2") gap between the ground and the bottom of the gate. If you require more ground clearance, you can reduce the amount the post is buried or contact us to order a made to measure post.

Finish

The steel is electro-galvanised to add a thin layer of zinc on the steel to prevent rust. The post is then powder coated in a black paint to give a smooth satin finish. This allows the post to be installed straight away and will be maintenance free for 5 to 10 years. Once rust starts to show, the post should be painted with a suitable exterior metal paint such as Hammerite.
