The Mediterranean-inspired Antique Amphora Water Butt from Garantia is designed to enhance your garden with a touch of Mediterranean charm whilst collecting nature's gift – rainwater. This unique water butt combines functionality and aesthetics, bringing a delightful ambiance to your outdoor space. Crafted using a one-of-a-kind manufacturing process, each tank is an exquisite, lifelike replica of an authentic terracotta vase, adding a touch of elegance to your surroundings.
Here's why our water butt stands out from the rest:
Rainwater Harvesting: Capture and utilize rainwater to nourish your garden, reducing your reliance on mains water and supporting sustainable living. Make the most of nature's bounty while nurturing your plants and flowers.
Innovative Design: Our water butt features a fixed planter cup integrated into the top, perfect for summer bedding plants. The geotextile fleece lining inside the planter cup ensures that rainwater is effectively collected and stored in the tank below, providing a dual-purpose functionality that maximizes water conservation.
Convenient Threaded Tap Hole: The high-quality threaded tap hole positioned at the front of the tank offers easy installation for your tap. With the water level below the tap, you can rely on a stable base, ensuring hassle-free access to your harvested rainwater whenever you need it. A chrome tap with brass thread is included. The position of the tap allows for easy filling of your watering can.
Versatile Installation: The water butt can be effortlessly connected to any downpipe (connector not included), making it a versatile addition to your garden. Whether you have a small balcony or a spacious backyard, you can brighten up your outdoor space and create a captivating focal point.

Connecting to a Downpipe
The water butt does not come predrilled to connect to a downpipe. This is very easy to do, simply attach the drill bit onto your drill and begin drilling – remember you must drill the hole in the water butt at the same level as the hole in the downpipe. As long as the holes drilled in both the water butt and the downpipe are level, the water will continue down the downpipe when the water butt is full.

Q) Can this water butt be placed directly on the ground?
A) Yes this water butt is designed to sit directly on the ground as the tap is located approx. 30cm from the bottom to enable a watering can to be used underneath. This also means that some water is always left in the water butt to help keep this stable.
Q) Can the water feed from the downpipe be fitted on either side of the water butt or not?
A) The downpipe filter or diverter can be installed from either side.
Q) How thick are the walls of the water butt?
A) The walls inside are not too thick so the drill piece can go through easily. No thicker than a few CM's.
Q) Are there any care instructions for this water butt?
A) It is good practice to empty water butts/tanks regularly to clean the interior and remove sludge, algae and slime that can build up and effect water quality over time. During the winter it is advised to drain the water butt/tank to avoid freezing which could crack and split the water butt/tank in low temperatures. All Garantia water butts/tanks come with a plug at the bottom to allow for easy emptying. When empty the drainpipe connection should be closed and the tap should be left on open.
