The 6ft tall Noise Reduction Fence Panel from Forest is an award winning domestic panel that combines great looks with a clever design to help reduce unwanted noise and making it feel more peaceful in your garden. The innovative design features Triform technology which is used in the production of the panel, meaning that on each side of the panel there is a specially developed triangular profile which creates multiple angles over the face of the board that will scatter noise waves and reduce their intensity. This unique design helps to diffuse noise as sound waves hit multiple faces on the board and break up. The 17mm thick section boards interlock with extended Tongue and Grooves that are smooth-planed and mounted in a 45mm rebated frame, helping to prevent gaps from developing across the face of the board that would allow noise to pass through - thus maximising the panels noise reduction performance in reflecting unwanted noise.

Independent tests on the panel have demonstrated its ability to reduce noise levels by as much as 30 decibels (dB) which is equivalent to reducing the noise from a typical petrol lawnmower or average road traffic down to the level of normal conversation. For optimum noise reduction performance the decibel panel must be mounted to fence posts ensuring there are no gaps for noise to pass through. This can be achieved by using either slotted fence posts (timber or concrete) or by screwing the panel directly onto wooden posts and leaving no gaps (using 'U-brackets' will leave an undesirable gap). The panels can be mounted with the boards running vertically or horizontally to accentuate either the height or length of the fence run. Unwanted noise can be further improved by mounting the panels on gravel boards to take the height of the fence panel to over 2 metres, making it perfect for homes with close neighbours or for gardens near busy roads.

Manufactured in Poland from PEFC certified timber from sustainable sources this mixed softwood panel is pressure treated which gives a natural timber colour and provides the fence panel with a 15 year anti-rot guarantee, eliminating the need for annual re-treatment and can be used with gravel boards if required.

Warranty & Maintenance

This item is pressure treated with a 15 year manufacturers anti rot guarantee. The pressure treatment leaves the wood with a temporary green tint. If left to weather, the wood will fade to a silvery grey colour; however you can change the colour straight away by staining the wood using Protek Timber Eco Shield, or it can be painted after it has been allowed to weather for at least 3 months using a product compatible for use with pressure treated timber Please note natural splitting and cracking may occur but will not affect the longevity nor structure of the product.
