Warranty & Maintenance
All Churnet Valley items are handmade and supplied with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty. The timber has been pre-treated with a basecoat offering antifungal, mould and also UV protection and should have a water repellent top coat treatment, such as Protek Royal Exterior/Interior Superior Wood Finish, applied before use and re-applied periodically in accordance with the instructions to keep the timber protected. This is a natural product made from wood that will include natural features like knots and veins through the grain. The wood will react to exposure to sunlight and changing moisture levels that can cause cracks or splits in the wood. These natural characteristics are due to the wood losing moisture during warm and dry seasons, during colder and wetter seasons the wood will uptake moisture again which will reduce these splits or cracks. This natural process will not affect the longevity nor structure of the product. To extend the life of the furniture we would recommend covering during the winter.
