From top to bottom it is less than the 4ft it states on the package. It is almost impossible to clean a pond that is over 10ft wide and 3ft deep in any place other than the edges of the pond. I contacted the company that makes the PondVac to see if they provided/sold a extension pole, but they dont, so its really quite useless, i suppose you could possibly improvise, but i didnt buy it to do this.
