Made to Measure Edinburgh Bow Top Gate

If the standard sizes available for the Edinburgh Bow Top Single Gate are not going to fit your opening, a made to measure service is available and can be ordered online. Please ensure you read the information below about how to work out the size you need to order and then follow the simple steps detailed below to place your order.

How to work out what size to order

For the width, measure the gap you have between your walls or posts. If you are replacing an existing gate, do not measure the gate itself as this will not take into account the space for the hinges and latch that are supplied with your gate.

For example: If the gap you have is 1000mm and you do not need posts, the width you should specify is 1000mm. If you do require posts, the measurement you need to specify is the gap between your posts. So if you have a 1000mm gap and need to install 2 x 70mm posts, the gap width for your gate should be entered as 860mm.

Measure the height of gate you require, from the bottom of the frame to the highest point in the gate. Remember to allow for ground clearance, typically 50mm (2") or more if your ground slopes.

How to order your made to measure gate

Step 1. Enter the gap width in millimetres or inches. Eg. If your gap between walls or posts is 1000mm, enter "1000" in the box.

Step 2. Enter the gate height measurement in millimetres or inches. Eg. If your overall gate height is 2000mm, enter "2000" in the box

Step 3. Made to measure 70mm square gate posts are available for £45 each. Select the number you require.

Step 4. For security, the Edinburgh Bow Top Gates can be padlocked as standard (padlock not supplied). If you would prefer to lock the gate with a key, please select the mortice lock option.

If the size of gate you require is larger or smaller than the website will allow you to order, please contact us with your measurements and we will be happy to provide you with a quotation.

The price of your made to measure gate will be displayed as you enter your measurements. This price is the total price, including VAT and delivery (excluding Highlands & Islands). When you are ready, click "Add to Basket" and go through the checkout to complete your purchase.

General Information

Fittings. The Edinburgh Bow Top Gate is supplied with hinges, latch and striker plate. Self tapping screws are also included.

Opening Directions. The Edinburgh Bow Top Gate is supplied with a universal latch for left/right hand opening.

Square Steel Posts. Posts are only required if you do not already have walls or posts in place on which to hang the gate. Please note the hinges and striker require a flat vertical surface for installation.

Finish. The Edinburgh Bow Top Gate is supplied dipped in a black primer ready for you to paint with a top coat in the colour of your choice. We recommend Hammerite but any exterior metal paint can be applied.
