Kalmia polifolia is a compact Laurel often mistaken for an azalea when not in bloom. It likes to grow on moist retentive but sunny spots. A good peaty mulch will help the shrub to thrive into its magnificent flowers. Its an evergreen with shiny leaves and produces clusters of round light pink to white flowers.
