General Information
Measuring. (Timber Posts, Wall or Brickwork). All sizes refer to actual openings and the gate, fence or rail width; we have already allowed for hinges etc.
Fittings. All gates, fence and railings are supplied with a pack of screw on/bolt on fitting to fix to existing timber or brickwork.
Opening Directions. All single, tall single and bow top gates are supplied with a universal latch for left/right hand opening. All double have the latch on the right hand leaf when viewed from the road.
Gate Hanging. All single and tall single, bow tops, Classic and Regent doubles have fixed hinges. All other double and tall doubles have adjustable hinges to assist with leveliing during installation.
Square Steel Posts. Due to the weight of the gates, care should be taken to ensure the brickwork is strong enough to support them. Steel posts which are concreted into the ground are recommended for all large gates.
Should you wish to hang the gates on steel posts, be sure to allow for the post widths. Eg. an 8ft opening pair of gates and two 70mm (3") posts will fit an 8ft 6in gap.
Finishing. All gates, fencing and railings are primed in black. After fitting a further coat of good quality gloss paint is required. The gold effect on rail head gates is not a factory option.
