How to Measure Gates
Measure the gap you have between your walls or posts. If you are replacing an existing gate, do not measure the gate itself - we will calculate the size the gate needs to be to allow space for the hinges & latch. If you are also buying posts, remember to allow space for these.
Measure the height of gate you require, from the bottom of the frame to the highest point in the gate. Remember to allow for ground clearance, typically 50mm (2") or more if your ground slopes.
General Information
Fittings. All gates, fence and railings are supplied with a fixing kit to fit your new gate to existing timber or brickwork.
Opening Directions. The Balmoral Tall Single Gate is designed to be hinged on the left side as you look toward the house from the road. All double gates have the latch on the right hand leaf when viewed from the road.
Square Steel Posts. Due to the weight of the gates, care should be taken to ensure the brickwork is strong enough to support them. Steel posts which are concreted into the ground are recommended for all large gates.
Finish. All gates, fencing and railings are primed in black. After fitting a further coat of good quality gloss paint is required.
