Garnet is one of the nicest red leaved acers with dissected foliage. Its filigree leaves are deeply cut, hence its name. Brilliant vibrant red laced foliage sprouts in early spring turning to crimson red in early summer and deep burgundy in late summer, finishing up with vivid reddish-purple in the autumn. This deciduous Acer is very slow growing up to 1.8m in ten years eventually reaching almost 6m. Great alongside a pond or in an ornamental planter. This variety looks particularly striking when planted next to Acer palmatum 'Osakazuki'.
